Challenge

E-STET launched as an eDiscovery company in 2007, but after several years of success, its growth began to stagnate. The industry of eDiscovery, which involves the collection of electronic data for legal purposes, had become a cacophony of companies pitching vaguely similar “Managed Services.” E-STET asked us to help cut through the noise. The company had a fresh team of engineers and lawyers, and wanted to build an iconic brand that straddled the traditional world of law and the hip world of tech in a way its business customers could immediately understand. After working with E-STET for a little over a year, its business had increased so much that it was recognized as one of the fastest 500 growing companies in the United States with the 2015 Deloitte Technology award.

Solution

 

E-STET had a complicated ediscovery service, but if it wanted to have an impactful identity, it needed a cohesive message that permeated its customer touchpoints and company culture. We began with reviewing all of the company's assets, helping shape more concise marketing materials as a creative consultant.

After several months of working closely with the company, we embarked on a company vision quest to Joshua Tree. There, we spent several days forging team bonds and holding collaborative workshops that laid the groundwork for E-STET’s “Insight Accelerator” rebranding campaign.

Externally, this campaign created a readily understood value proposition for clients in the legal industry looking to gain insight from their data. The Insight Accelerator includes a list of services, represented by variations of hexagonal shapes, one of the strongest and most connected structures in nature. We leveraged the company’s legacy color, green, to make the hexagonal icons pop against desaturated black and white images of the legal and tech work environment. This new aesthetic guided us when developing E-STET’s logo, website, marketing materials, educational videos, and a multitude of other brand assets.

 

Internally, the Insight Accelerator campaign helped align the company’s message. We created an onboarding brand portal for E-STET’s new hires featuring a library of brand assets.

The new brand extended to charity, sales, and client networking events themed around specific services.

Building a lasting brand starts from the inside out. Our experience with E-STET is a prime example of how a unified vision was able to transform all aspects of a company’s identity—resulting in better design, a synchronized workforce, and more awards and clients.
